The “Better Governance and Business Environment (BGBE)” project, co-funded wy the

European Union and the German Federat Ministry for Economic Cooperation and

Development (BMZ) and implemented by Gi2 in collaboration with Ministry of Commerce in

Pakistan, Startedin September 2025 and willrun till September 2030, *


BGBE has set up a challenge fund to provide matching grant support to 120 export-oriented
Smatl and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) working in the sector of Textile & Apparel, Leather,
Sports Goods, Surgical Instruments through multiple rounds of competitive call for concept.
The objective of the challenge funds to reward Innovation, accelerate enterprise-level green
transformation, and generate demonstrable solutions (examples detailed below)that can be
fepticated and scaled across sectors. The SMEs will contribute at least 50% of the proposed
‘costof the idea (cash or in-kind contribution),

15 SMEs in Punjad and Sindh will be awarded matching grants in the first round. The
Maximum funds an SME can recelve Is 100,000 euros, with a minimum of 30,000 euros,
from 2 pool of § million euros, SMEs are expected to contribute at least 50% of the proposed
